Ski Biking

Ski biking in the Vail Valley at this time happens only at Adventure Ridge on Vail Mountain.Ski biking is skiing but on a bike.  So it’s part bike and part skis.  Ski biking is a nighttime guided tour but is for people who are considered intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, ages 10 and up.It’s quiet the adventure!  The actual ride time is around 1.5 hours but schedule yourself and extra 30 min.  If you would like to check out the ski biking before booking your adventure, the bikers come down the slope in the Lionshead area.  You can sit on the deck of Garfinkel’s and watch the bikers come down.  A trip up the Gondola gives you are view of the bikers as well.

The adventure starts at the top of the gondola, Lionshead area, at Adventure Ridge and moves down Born Free run.  It’s free after 4 pm to ride the gondola to the top but you are not allowed to take your skis.

A couple of things to keep in mind for ski biking  Bring you own helmet and your own ski boots.  They do provide ski boots but it’s always best to have your own boots for comfort and warmth.  Remember the ski biking takes place in the evening so it’s much cooler at that time.  Hand warmers and foot warmers are always a good thing to have for nighttime winter events.

Tour times are 4:45, 5:15, 6:30, and 7pm.

Reservations are recommended and it’s $69 per person.
